Who we are

Mukoko Studio (Private) Limited is a Zimbabwe-registered design and technology studio working across Zimbabwe and the United Kingdom. We are responsible for personal data submitted through this website. You can reach us at hello@mukoko.studio.

What we collect

• Contact form submissions: name, email, organisation, project notes, budget range, launch date and any other detail you choose to send us.
• Email correspondence: anything you send us directly by email.
• Basic technical data: the user agent string of your browser, recorded alongside contact form submissions to help us spot spam.

We do not run third-party advertising trackers. We do not buy or sell mailing lists.

Project workbench drafts

The project workbench prepares a high-level brief in your browser. When you choose to continue to the enquiry, a temporary copy is placed in this tab’s session storage. It contains the brief, service choice, source-material description, desired timing and project readiness. The workbench does not collect separate name, email or consent fields; any information you choose to put into the brief is part of the carried text.

The carried copy is available to import for up to two hours. You can remove it in the enquiry form; expired or invalid copies are removed when the form next checks for them. A successful enquiry submission also removes the carried copy. The workbench does not send the draft to us. It becomes an enquiry only when you review the contact form, give consent and submit it. Copying or downloading a brief creates a copy under your control.

Domain and business-name searches

When you submit a .co.zw lookup, the domain name is sent through our server to ZISPA’s public registry service. We return only the registration status and check time, without registrant contact details. Results may be cached in memory for up to five minutes. Short-lived request counters help limit abuse; queries are not saved to a customer database by this tool. Hosting providers may retain routine request logs.

The .co.uk link opens Nominet’s official lookup with the domain you chose. The company-search link opens the CIPZ government portal, where its account requirements and privacy terms apply. We do not receive your CIPZ login or search results. Do not enter identity numbers, banking information or confidential personal details into the domain search.

Why we use it

• To reply to your enquiry and discuss whether we can help.
• To deliver work you have engaged us to do.
• To keep records for tax, accounting and legal obligations.

Our lawful basis is your consent (when you contact us) and legitimate interests (running and protecting the studio).

How long we keep it

Contact form submissions are kept for up to 24 months unless they become part of an active client engagement, in which case we keep them for the duration of the engagement plus six years for tax and accounting purposes. You can ask us to delete your data earlier.

Who we share it with

We use trusted third-party processors to run the studio. These include our backend hosting provider, our email provider, and accounting software. Each processes data only on our instructions and only as needed.

Service providers and the registries described above may process data in the UK, Zimbabwe or other jurisdictions. For client work, any required processing arrangements and transfer safeguards are addressed in the agreed engagement terms.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can request access to your data, correct it, delete it, restrict its use, object to its use, or receive a copy in a portable format. Email hello@mukoko.studio and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

If we materially change this policy, we will update the date below and, where appropriate, notify anyone we hold data on.
