Spatial storytelling & heritage
Somerleyton Living Estate
A photographic estate atlas connecting places, stories, historic layers and an interactive garden walk.

The context
The job behind
the interface.
An estate holds many overlapping experiences: arrival, landscape, architecture, history and a visitor's own route through the place. The study explores how an atlas can connect those experiences without losing the wider setting.
What the experience includes
- 01A photographic estate atlas
- 02Map, Story, Choice, Evidence and Visit experience layers
- 03An interactive garden walk
- 04A place-led route into the wider Spatial practice
The approach
Make the next step clear.
- Different stories can remain attached to the same place.
- Visitors can explore more than one reading of the estate.
- Photography, geography and narrative are experienced together.
Current status & responsibilities
Independent working study
An independent working study is not a claim of a commissioned or approved estate project. Estate photography is credited to Somerleyton Estate. The study illustrates the studio's spatial approach.
